New Layout

A big thanks to my friends, Stephanie and Cameron, for helping me with my blog.

Apparently I can't figure out how to work a blog even though I've had one for almost 2 years.

But thanks, guys! You're the best!

Bridesmaids and Babies

Before my freshmen year, my parents and I prayed long and hard for me to have a good roommate. I was going potluck and had heard HORROR stories about not knowing your roommate and then they end up being a crack addict or something. It happens. Apparently.

But God is good. And blessed me with an amazing roommate.
(This is us freshmen year in Bricktown. Ironically in front of the fountain
where she would get proposed to almost 2 1/2 years later.)

So she's getting married in a little over a year.

And I just wanted to show you what she gave me the other day:
This beautiful candle (ignore the mess of my desk in the background)

And this card:

I'M GOING TO BE A BRIDESMAID!!
I am SO excited. Adrienne, I can't wait to be a part of your day.
Also. You should all go check out her wedding website.

And now for the babies part.

JUST KIDDING!
As my mom so lovingly reminded me once, you have to at least have a boyfriend to get pregnant.
Well. Maybe not.

Anyway.
I am NOT pregnant.

But this past weekend I went to Houston where I will be
working at a church this summer as the children's intern.

I. Loved. It.
I loved every second of it.
I loved the church. I loved the Children's Minister. I loved the family I'm staying with. I loved Houston.
I loved all the babies.
I can't wait to be there. I would go back right now if I could.

Cruise Control

It might be too soon for this post. After all, we don't leave for another week and 3 days. But as I'm sitting here trying to do my homework, I just have cruise fever.

Oh. Did I mention I'm going on a cruise?
With 3 AMAZING girls?
To the Bahamas?
For 5 days?

Well, I am.
And I. Can't. Wait.

The following pictures are our ship and our 2 ports.

Now I just have to figure out a way to make $56 last for the rest of the semester and all my cruise paraphernalia. Maybe I'll just opt out on the whole wearing a swimsuit thing. That's acceptable, right?

Anyone need a babysitter???
(I'm only kidding a little bit.)

Opera

I have been such a responsible blogger recently. You know what that means, right?

It's almost finals week.

I usually become a FANTASTIC blogger during finals week and right before because I'm just avoiding doing homework/studying.

So the secret's out. Sorry, Mom and Dad. Don't worry, though. I'll be just enough studious to scrape some decent grades. Thanks, Dad, for this great ability that will probably kill me in grad school.

Anyway. Tonight I am currently backstage of the opera that I am in. Well all of chorale is in it, so it's really not that big of a deal. But I thought you would probably want to see me in my period clothes. And hair. The costumer said I had the best hair of the opera. And I did it all by myself. I'm pretty proud.

You're a Vision in Khaki

It might be raining. My head might be pounding. My sinuses might be ready to explode. I might be dreading going to opera rehearsal at 11 tomorrow.

But it's been a wonderful Friday night.

Arts and crafts.
I made this super cute (if I do say so myself) bobby pin holder box!

Comfort movies:
My favorite movie of all time, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
(Judge if you wish. It really is my favorite.)

AND

Sweet Home Alabama.
I think I watched this movie almost every weekend in junior high.
Good times.

And best friends:

Friday's don't get much better than this.

Officially an Adult

Well. I'm 21. Which is so young. But also the perfect number for adulthood. Yes, I am aware that I was technically an adult at 18, but now it's official. Here's some pictures from my big day.

My first birthday party was at BJ's for lunch. And they give you a free Pizookie!! It was wonderful.
And then at my second party at Applebee's I got a free sundae! (Ignore the crazy eyes. I was super excited about that thing.)
What a wonderful group of people! They made my birthday soooo fantastic!!!

And on a completely unrelated note:
My roommate is engaged!!!! And I take full credit for this. Well, maybe not full credit. But I did introduce them way back at Earn Your Wings freshmen year. So some credit is due to me.

What a Semester!

So it seems I have been slightly remiss on my blog duties. To make up for it, here is my past semester in 17 pictures.

We'll start with Spring Sing!!

Some lovely Pi girls at my house helping us make those GORGEOUS wedding dresses!

Taking a break at B-Dub's after Final Approval. Me, Aaron, Lane.

My amazing co-director, Kailee, and myself running our show in the gym.

Two of my friends from home came to visit! Dith, Anna, Me.

All my Pi girls!!! So proud of them!

In the midst of Spring Sing, my parents hosted a review-type show at my school. Dad, Sister, Mom, Me.

Then there was Pi Banquet:

Awkward prom picture before banquet. I'll just name the girls. Me, Bekah, Kailee, Stephanie.

My wonderful friend and co-director, Kailee.

My date and good friend, Aaron.

Then there was a "thrift-store prom" for Pi and Kappa. (Two clubs on campus.)

My friend Shawn and I.

All semester long, several of my friends and I have been coaching LTC at our church. So Easter weekend we went to Dallas. But first we made a stop by Babe's Chicken:

Holly, Rebekah, Lane, Aaron, Me

Me and Aaron with our drama team.

Lane, Me, Aaron

Yesterday was Kappa (a boy club here on campus) Banquet! We spent all day at the zoo and then had a semi-formal banquet that night. It was SOOO fun!

All the ladies. Bailey, Stephanie, Bekah, Kailee, Me.

Bekah and I all dressed up at night.

Pi girls doing the Pi face and sign at Kappa banquet.

Aaron and I at BJ's after banquet.

All in all, it's been a great semester. It's probably been one of the hardest in my college career, academically, relationally, emotionally, you name it, but it's also been one of the best. I have an amazing group of friends and I'm just loving life!

Now I have to go out and celebrate my birthday. That's right. I am 21 today!

Hope everyone's having a wonderful Sunday.
