SSSP #27

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the end: Final(ly) Approval.

Monday was my last Executive and last Director meeting.
And, apparently, it came with PRESENTS!
An adorable monogrammed cup from one of the faculty advisors: Amanda
And my favorite Sonic drink from Lambda!

The last director meeting involved lots of speeches, a board diagram, and one or two rounds of applause.
They like me, they really like me!
Now it's time for it all!!!!
I can't wait.

SSSP #26

There is a high likelihood I will either lose my sanity or commit heinous crimes within the next two weeks.
You have been warned.
It's been nice knowing you all.

SSSP #25

These are actually from yesterday.
A wonderful (mostly) free day spent with my sister.
But also spent cutting and cutting and cutting and cutting.
Above - the before.
 Below - the after.
At least I'll be organized for show week, right?

And the entire time, my sister did this:
Literally all day.
What's a girl without cable to do?

SSSP #24

I had written out an entire post just 2 minutes ago.
All about my day of Spring Sing.
I even previewed it.
It was short, witty, informative - and completely negative.
So I deleted it.

It has just been one of those days.
But I serve a God who is God of the bad days, too.
And even though I feel miniscule tonight - I know He is upholding me with His righteous right hand.
And that is what I want to remember about Spring Sing today.

SSSP #23 and...

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

I don't remember ever loving Valentine's Day
as much as I do this year.

And I can tell you why, too. (I know you were wondering.)
I am a part of a constant love story with my Creator and it definitely has its ups and downs (because I am ALL human and tend to push Him away any chance I get.)
But, recently, the love of my Savior has just captivated my being. His perfect timing has left me in awe and His mighty hand has proved me wrong over and over.
Because of this...
I just currently love everything about this holiday: the way everyone is thinking about love, all the people going out of their way to love on other people,
the abundance of my favorite color.
It's just all so wonderful.

And in honor of my new favorite holiday, I give you a Spring Sing Sneak Peek of Unity. (All the clubs "compete" for an award to see who can do the best job of encouraging other clubs. It's a little strange, but, hey,
what part of Spring Sing isn't?)

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to take test #2 of
4 tests and 1 quiz today.
Happy Valentine's Day, indeed.

tonight was a night for...
dressing up
laughing until it hurts
eating way too much good food
missing some best friends
catching up with others
and realizing once again that God is faithful,
trustworthy, even

Snow days don't leave much room for Spring Sing...

But they do leave room for wedding dress shopping!

All of my brides now have their dresses!
I was lucky enough to be with 2 of them when they bought THE dress.
Here's Ashley in a no-go:
(Just think about how great she must look in her
actual dress if THIS is a no-go!)

And, of course, the bridesmaids couldn't be left out.

We're in love with these dresses.
Hear that, Ashley?
We're in love with these dresses.

But, it's your day.
Don't let our opinions sway you.

SSSP #22

Tonight we took club pictures.

This is how every other club stood:

And...

This is how Delta stood:
Is anyone really surprised?

SSSP #21

Today might possibly have been my most
frustrating day yet as Club Coordinator.
Every 2 weeks (or whenever it needs to happen) I meet with the Director of Events to plan the next two weeks' practices.
But then at our last meeting (and today's meeting and tomorrow's lunch meeting) we had to plan holding rooms for the actual shows.
Try planning places to hold 400+ people for 6 different shows on a not-very-large campus while also accommodating all sports, other shows, banquets, classes, and events.

This is what a person planning those looks like:

It will get better, though.
Today was just a rough patch.
(At least that's what I'm telling myself as I inhale my Taco Bell and think that another snow day MIGHT not be so bad.)

SSSP #21

Has it really already been 3 weeks of Spring Sing?
3 down. 4 to go.
Spring Sing practices are a little like mailmen - nothing will stop them.
Not even piles of snow.
Or fatigue.
Or sicknesses.
I bet if someone did a study on OC's campus, infectious diseases would skyrocket during Spring Sing.
I should do that study. In all the free time I have.

SSSP #16-20

Well, it's been a crazy week.
And by crazy I mean incredibly lazy.
But we did have a couple or so Spring Sing things:

Choreography approval:
Club directors just have to come and show the executives all of their choreography and we make sure it's OC appropriate and all that jazz.

And the man himself:
Mr. Bob Lashley

And today is the day where everyone goes crazy and wakes up at the crack of dawn to wait in line for a million years to buy 6 tickets for their adoring fans to watch them perform in the best show ever.

Things get pretty wild on ticket sales day.

SSSP #15 *UPDATED*

How did I spend my snow day?
Waivers, waivers, and more waivers.
I sorted.
I alphabetized.
I checked and double-checked list after list.
I emailed.
I (and my fantastic friend Ashley)* alphabetized some more.
I would die a happy person if I never saw
 another Spring Sing waiver again.

*The only two human beings I saw yesterday were Ashley and her fiance, Andrew. I am eternally indebted to Ashley for her help with alphabetizing. I couldn't have done it without her*

Better, Ashley?
